Global Recycling Day on 18 March 2023

Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources. 18 March is Global Recycling Day and we're proud to highlight the important work that Bertling Enviro is doing to promote sustainability and circular economy principles in the waste and resource management sector.

Global Recycling Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and the role that it plays in preserving our planet. By recycling waste materials, we can reduce the strain on natural resources, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and conserve energy.

At Bertling Enviro, we're proud to be part of this global effort to create a more sustainable future.

Through our innovative logistics, waste management, and recycling solutions, we are helping businesses reduce their environmental footprint and move towards a more circular economy. Going one step further, we can even provide the carbon footprint of all our logistic routes, demonstrating that even with the CO2 emissions produced from transport, there is a significant benefit to the environment vs landfill.

Let’s all commit to doing our part to reduce, reuse and promote sustainability. To honor this day, we have made the following tips on how to be better at recycling:

1. Know what can and can't be recycled: Before you start recycling, it's important to know what materials can and can't be recycled in your area. Check with your local waste management company or with your municipal office. Visit their website to find out what can be recycled, they often have guides and information that can be printed off.

2. Separate your recyclables: Make sure you're separating your recyclables properly to make it easier for your waste management company to process. Common categories include paper and cardboard, glass, metal, and plastic.

3. Rinse and clean containers: It's important to rinse and clean containers before recycling them to avoid contamination and help ensure that they can be properly recycled. If you have a mixed recycling bin, ensure that these items are dry before you put them in your bin.

4. Avoid contamination: Make sure you're not putting non-recyclable materials in your recycling bin, as this can contaminate the entire batch and make it harder to recycle.

5. Reduce waste: Recycling is just one part of a larger sustainability effort. Look for ways to reduce waste in your daily life, such as using reusable containers or buying products with less packaging.

By following the five tips above, you can make a difference in reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Remember that every little bit helps, and together, we can make a big impact on the health of our planet.
