Our dynamic, international organization is currently seeking a dynamic In-House Paralegal – Commercial Contracts to join our team for an exciting opportunity in the UK.
The successful applicant will be involved with:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial contracts.
- Review and prepare NDA’s, and other confidentiality agreements.
- Assist with the preparation of sub-contracting agreements and other general commercial agreements.
- Work with existing bespoke clauses and the development of new ones.
- Implementing contract amendments in consultation with the Contracts Manager.
- Assisting with the drafting and managing of responses on contract disputes.
- Maintaining the organisation of contracts post-signature including the registration of contracts with insurers.
- Supporting the various stakeholders with legal queries.
- Drafting templates and legal documents.
- Archiving and maintaining records of contracts and other legal documents.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager and provide cover for holidays/absences.
- General legal assistance.
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Law Degree (2:1 or above) from a recognised university or PgDL equivalent, is essential
- CILEX Diploma, LPC, SQE or Paralegal certification is desired
- Working as a paralegal with commercial contracts would be desirable but we will also accept CVs from newly qualified paralegals/legal executives without experience.
- A second language such as Spanish would be beneficial
- Strong contract drafting skills (essential)
- Accuracy and attention to detail (essential)
- Maintain confidentiality (essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Advanced and appropriate IT skills
- A humbleness to learn, to accept instructions and directions from the Contracts Manager will be key soft skills.
- Have a solutions-based mind-set and be a problem solver
