Since the beginning of our sustainability reporting in 2022, Bertling Logistics have reported under the GRI Reporting Standards. With the aim of continuously improving our reporting and ensuring compliance with EU regulations, we have closely monitored the development of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), as well as the newly proposed Omnibus Simplification Package affecting the CSRD.
What is the Ombinus Simplification Package?
The Omnibus Simplification Package was put forward by the Commission in February 2025 and proposes revisions to EU’s requirements of sustainability reporting within directives like the CSRD, the CSDDD, the EU Taxonomy and the CBAM. The proposals in the package aim to reduce complexity, enhance competitiveness and reduce administrative burdens for businesses.
In April 2025, the “Stop-the-clock Directive’’, a part of the Omnibus Package, came to force and postponed the application of CSRD by two years for companies in waves 2 and 3. This means that companies previously required to report under CSRD for financial years 2025 and 2026 are now instead required to report in 2027 and 2028, respectively.
The “ Stop-the-clock Directive’’ is just one part of the Omnibus Package and additional changes are yet being negotiated by the Commission. While the full impact of the Omnibus Package remains unknown, we at Bertling Logistics are committed to being compliant with EU’s regulations and we will therefore adopt the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard (VSME) developed by EFRAG for the upcoming reporting period.
