For our Sustainability KPI in February, we focused on exploring sustainable logistics solutions and bringing them directly to our clients.
Today, logistics accounts for a significant share of many companies’ emissions and inevitably contributes to climate change. At the same time, it remains essential for keeping operations running smoothly and meeting customer demands efficiently.
To support our clients in tackling this challenge, we at Bertling Logistics focus on what we do best, logistics, while continuously being informed about innovative solutions that can reduce emissions across the supply chain.
As part of our February KPI, all our offices were asked to engage with at least one subcontractor to explore sustainable transport solutions and present at least one of these options to a client. Our colleagues across the globe presented options like intermodal solutions, e-trucks, and alternative fuels. A new pallet solution was also presented to one of our clients to optimize the reusage of pallets and thus decrease operational emissions.
We believe initiatives like these, exploring new possibilities and sharing our knowledge, are key to driving meaningful, long-term change. Because real change doesn’t happen overnight, it happens step by step, shipment by shipment. And together, those steps make a difference.
