Breakbulk Shipment from China to Brazil

Bertling Singapore recently completed loading a successful Breakbulk shipment in Taicang, Huangdao, China to Aracruz, Brazil.

POL: Taicang, Huangdao, China
POD: Aracruz, Brazil.
Industry: Oil & gas
Volume: 178pkgs of equipment
Bertling Team: Singapore & Shanghai
Longest piece: 222130kgs – 1020x520x460cm
Largest piece: 133650kg - 2528x785x1225cm

Our scope covered the end-to-end logistics solution, from door-to-port transportation from Wuxi to Taicang and from Rushan to Huangdao Port, including overside loading by barge onto the mother vessel at Wuxi and Rushan, through to final delivery at the Seatrium Brazil yard.

A key challenge was the repeated postponement of the laycan, with the vessel owner unable to provide a firm arrival date in China. This left the shipper with a very limited window to complete export customs clearance before the vessel's arrival. In addition, the permit for overside loading by barge remained pending approval from the Huangdao Maritime Authority. Despite these challenges, the permit issue was ultimately resolved while the vessel was waiting for berth, enabling the operation to proceed within the available timeframe.

The project was completed safely and to the client's full satisfaction. A big thank you to our Shanghai and Singapore colleagues for their close coordination and diligent oversight of the loading operations, which contributed significantly to the successful execution of the project despite the challenges encountered.
