The successful applicant will be involved with:
- Working parallel to the Heavy Lift Engineering team based in Middlesbrough, to support with selling and marketing engineering concepts, from green field to site installation providing a turn key project logistics solutions.
- Production of documents to a high standard, technical packages for tenders including commercial offers.
- AutoCad experience would be beneficial.
- Working closely with Key Account and Global Tendering to provide bespoke technical and commercial solutions
- Review Client drawing reviews
- Experience of managing sub-contractors on site
- Knowledge of method statements and risk assessments
- Design end-to-end logistics solutions for out of gauge cargo.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, engineering standards, and HSE requirements.
- Act as the technical-commercial interface with clients during pre-award and post-award phases.
- Present logistics concepts, methodologies, and cost breakdowns to clients.
- Increased conversion of engineering-led opportunities into profitable contracts
- Stronger integration between engineering, sales, and tendering teams globally
- Clear differentiation of Bertling in the market as a technical logistics partner
- Early involvement in major projects at concept and FEED stages and how to monetise this offering
- Delivery of robust, executable, and commercially competitive logistics solutions
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Degree / HND / HNC qualification in Engineering
- Experience in an engineering and or commercial discipline.
- Competent computing skills including AutoCad, Microsoft office, word, excel, power point, project, Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to interact easily with co-workers in other parts of the world and client representatives via both spoken word and email.
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
- The ability to influence and persuade
- Ability to assimilate and understand complex information
- Ability to work without close supervision yet able to judge when advice and support is required.
- Having an eye for detail coupled with efficient time management.
- Hold a clean current driving licence and own their own vehicle.
- Ability to sell to engineering and commercial decision-making teams
- Strong client-facing capability with confidence presenting technical solutions with a commercial focus (ie commercialise our technical offering)
- Excellent written and presentation skills for high-quality tender and proposal documentation
- Solid understanding of method statements, transport engineering, and risk management
- Ability to work across cultures and functions in a global organisation with global client base
- Travel required
- Ability to spot an opportunity with existing clients
- Cooperate with global tendering team
- Understand how to price technical services
- Come up with study proposals that deliver value and insight to our client operations
