The successful applicant will be involved with:
The Project Coordinator - Trucking is responsible for arranging transport of cargo from suppliers to project destination as per customer or contract requirements.
- Book cargo with trucking companies
- Create transportation documentation
- Arrange inland freight to collect ‘ex-works’ orders
- Alert destination of shipment arrival
- Accurately maintain system/shipping records and data entry into the computer system
- Ensure carrier compliance with laws and regulations and company policies
- Expedite orders from suppliers
- Provide back up to other Logistics Coordinators and Logistics Manager
- Audit freight bills, identify discrepancies in charges and correct, forward complex issues to higher level position
- Investigate shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost, damaged or shortage of merchandise to determine responsibility
- Inside sales and promote business growth goals
- Perform other duties as necessary
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in truck transportation or related industry
- Service oriented and able to communicate informatively with the customer
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to multitask and keep track of several shipments for numerous clients
- General knowledge of shipping documentation and transport regulations
- Proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel with experience using a database
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Geographical knowledge and an understanding of regulatory requirements
- Fluent in Spanish a plus
- Experience with US-Mexico cross-border trucking operations a plus
