The successful applicant will be involved with:
The Director of Engineering is a hands-on leader responsible for designing, pricing, and executing complex logistics solutions for oversized, high-value, and project-based cargo. Activities involve working with the owners and operators of heavy lift vessels, cranes, road transportation equipment and aircraft across a multitude of market sectors.
- Client drawing reviews
- Production of documents (RAMS / transport manuals / risk assessments / engineering reviews)
- CAD drawing and design work / lifting drawings / transport drawings / stowage plans etc.
- Project planning
- Assisting with onsite loading activities (USA & International)
- Travel is a key part of the role, both in country and internationally when required.
- Other duties as necessary
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or high-level college certificate.
- Details of work experience
- Any safety qualification is a bonus
- To be able to handle sub-contractors on site managing client expectations
- Supervise multimodal operations
- Proficient in the use of AutoCad LT and Vi-deck (Vessel securing analysis program)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work without close supervision yet able to judge when advice and support is required
- Thorough and determined with a passion for engineering
