The Airfreight Coordinator is responsible to manage the end-to-end coordination of international airfreight shipments, with a focus on high-volume and project cargo movements. The successful candidate will be well-versed in air cargo operations, including handling complex logistics, large-scale shipments, and Dangerous Goods (DGR). This role requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage full-cycle airfreight operations for both standard and project-based shipments, including oversized, heavy-lift, or time-critical cargo.
- Coordinate high-volume bookings and space allocations with airlines and consolidators.
- Handle all required documentation, including airway bills, cargo manifests, DGR declarations, and export/import clearance paperwork.
- Ensure strict compliance with IATA, TSA, CBP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, ground handlers, and internal departments to manage expectations and resolve issues.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing real-time updates to stakeholders and proactively addressing delays or exceptions.
- Ensure accurate data entry into TMS and maintain organized shipment records.
- Ensure cost-effective shipment routing and accurate rate application in collaboration with the pricing and procurement team.
- Maintain data accuracy in logistics platforms and ensure timely billing and invoicing.
- Participate in project planning for large-scale or high-value freight movements, working closely with operations and engineering teams when applicable.
- Support training and mentorship for junior team members when needed.
The successful applicant will have/be:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in airfreight forwarding, including project cargo and large-volume handling.
- Certified in Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
- Strong understanding of global airfreight operations, documentation, and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with customs procedures, compliance standards, and country-specific regulations.
- Proficient in logistics software such as Cargowise, SAP TM, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex shipments simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a high-stakes environment.
