Bertling at Breakbulk Europe’s Education Day
An interview with Janina Reinig, General Manager of Bertling Germany.
This year during Breakbulk Europe Bertling was invited to speak during the Education Day session and also to give an interview. Both was done by Janina Reinig, our General Manager of Bertling Germany.
On Wednesday, 29 May, Janina held a presentation in front of students from well-known German universities specializing on logistics studies, like Bremen University or Jacob’s University, about becoming a freight forwarding specialist, the industry itself, her career, the career entry opportunities at Bertling and how to get in board.
Following her presentation, Janina was asked to give an interview about “How to Choose a Career in Logistics”. Janina explained how she got into logistics, what she loves about her job and also what recommendation she can give to young people looking for their future profession.
Our favorite quote is: “What I told [the young graduates] earlier today, was being open and explore what our industry involves. We have shipping, charting and project logistics, we have general freight forwarding. […] Try to get an experience in all these kind of areas and decide what you like the most and where you could see your future.”

Breakbulk told us afterwards that Janina’s presentation was one of the most attended with lots of positive feedback from the students, of whom some had not yet heard about project logistics before.
