Bertling South Africa obtains BBBEE Level 2 status
Re-certification process outcome successful
We are pleased to inform that the review and re-certification process was successful and that our Level 2 contribution to BBBEE was approved at the end of 2018. We have already received our official certificate, click here to have a look.
The Broad Base Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) is an initiative by the South African government to address the historical imbalances caused by the Apartheid regime and sets strict regulations to South African businesses to ensure the employment of Black People at all levels of the companies.
Ownership and Management control are the priority elements of their participation in the business and, over 10 years after the BBBEE codes were created, it emphasises our ambition towards black ownership and local content to major clients in the region.
In the process of acquiring BBBEE level 2 status, we partnered up with Momentum Trucking, who acquired 51% of our shares in South Africa. Having Momentum Trucking, which is a 100% Black-owned entity on board, we are convinced that complementarity and synergies between our two businesses will lead to new opportunities to gain additional market share with end-to-end service solutions. We are very pleased about this positive outcome of the BBBEE re-certification process by Renaissance Rating Agency and that the efforts to proof our ambition towards black ownership and local content have been rewarded.
