Bertling UK audited by one of its major clients
It was a successful Compliance & Risk Management audit
It has been more than a year since the introduction of the Bertling critical high risk support procedures (CHRSP) as the company’s tool for managing its core business risks.
For some offices implementation is still ongoing, but for some the benefits are already being felt.
Earlier this year, auditors from our valued client, a world leader in power generation, evaluated our corporate quality, compliance and HSSE procedures and their integration throughout the UK offices in Wembley, Aberdeen and Middlesbrough. Bertling’s department heads and Chris Brooks, our Director of Global Risk Management & Head of Compliance and QM, guided our client’s auditors through the management system and demonstrated how it integrated at each level of the organisation.
The client’s auditors concluded that: “They have no objection to continued use of the Bertling Group by any division of their company for transportation. A strong management culture exists and mature certified systems, with good leadership for quality and safety are evident.”
This is an exceptional result for the company due in part to the quality, compliance and HSSE systems that have been put in place but equally importantly to the team’s ability to demonstrate how the management systems were being operated on the ground in each office.
The auditors were convinced of the value of the Bertling CHRSP’s as effective means of managing business and compliance risks as they were based on the following sound principles:
- They reflect what happens at the operational coalface
- They are risk based
- They are regularly reviewed for performance and improvement
- They have built in communication and engagement with senior management.
