Wanted: Business Development Manager - Outside Sales for Bertling Malaysia

The successful applicant will be involved with:

  • Promoting company services and performing on agreed sales and marketing strategies
  • Attracting new business accounts
  • Making quotations for new customers
  • Closing new business accounts
  • Maintaining Clients’ Portfolio
  • Reporting visits and calls directly to Commercial Manager
  • Working according to established quality standards and performance patterns
  • Increasing market shares
  • Improving, extending, developing, promoting, and preserving the business interests and reputation of Bertling
  • Agreeing with Management and implementing action plans and schedules to identify specific targets
  • Calling on existing customers and potential customers regularly
  • Responding to all sales inquiries preparing presentations, proposals, and sales contacts
  • At the time of award and/or sales secured, handing over to the Operations department to ensure the smooth running of the contract with regular contact with the client to ensure the client is satisfied with the company's performance
  • Monitoring overall performance of the Logistics Operations and recommending action where necessary to reach objectives, identifying and assisting in resolving client concerns
  • Assisting with commercial and technical responses to tenders when required
  • Surveys and studies for potential and upcoming projects and new commercial sales calls
  • Marketing and PR functions at public events and Industry shows, etc.
  • Communicating client developments, information, or feedback gathered through sales calls
  • Preparing a variety of reports, including sales pipeline with closing and follow-up comments
  • Continuously educating yourself with the latest Bertling products
  • Achieving and maintaining sales budget target
  • All reasonable instructions delegated by the reporting manager
  • All reasonable instructions delegated by relevant Manager(s)

The successful applicant will have/be:

  • Experience in Sales in the Clearing & Forwarding Industry in Malaysia
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of database management software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficient in English (business level)
  • Proactive and autonomous
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Personal and professional ethic standard
  • Knowledge of international commerce
