Clarification following on-going investigation by the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into F.H. Bertling Ltd (UK)

Dear Valued Business Partner,

As you will be aware, there is an on-going investigation by the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into F.H. Bertling Ltd (UK). We have come to learn that there is a press release on the website of the SFO advising that the SFO have raised charges against F.H. Bertling Ltd (UK) (and others) in alleging conspiracy relating to the Jasmine Project, dating back to 2010. This subject was part of the self-report to the SFO in 2014 and is subject to the Contempt of Court Act. The individuals named on the charge either never were or are no longer employed by any Bertling entity worldwide.

The entity F.H. Bertling Ltd (UK) has been sold and deconsolidated as of 1st January 2017 and is no longer part of the Bertling Group.

F.H. Bertling International GmbH (Bertling), which as a shareholder at the time of the allegations, vigorously denies any previous wrong-doing in relation to these charges.

Commencing 2010, the Bertling Group enhanced its Ethics and Compliance Programme. The programme includes amongst others regular trainings of all of the Group’s staff members, whistle blowing facilities, the issue of the Groups Values and Code of Conduct and the involvement of professional third party advisors to benchmark and provide specialist ethics and compliance advice.

The SFO is not investigating any current activities of Bertling Logistics Group member companies and we are trading as normal.
